Soul Purpose as a Protector and Fear of Judgement on Intuitive Abilities

If you’re lucky as you grow older, you will find yourself caring less and giving more.

This week a new group of readers of this blog have emerged in force.

Those With Tremendous Intuitive Abilities Who Fear It, Misunderstand It, Don’t Know How to Develop It, and/or Are Being Judged by Friends and Family

You’ve come to the right place.  Many who practice in the intuitive and psychic realm are Healers.  I am not.  I am a Protector.  You might put it under the category of Soul Purpose.

I was born a Protector.  When I was about 16 I marched myself, illegally, right into the Library of an exclusive boys boarding school to give hell to a guy.  The worst part wasn’t that I had come right from ice hockey practice and still had my hockey pants on and was covered with dried sweat from head to toe.  Oh no.  The worst part was that this wasn’t even my boyfriend I’d come to yell at.  It was my best friend’s boyfriend.  Every eye in the room swiveled over to me and I never heard the end of it.  I can’t remember what it was about.  I do remember though that it was the moment I realized I was a Protector.  I had no business being there whatsoever.  Ever after, I stopped myself when that instinct started to kick in full force.  I had to consciously decide that I didn’t want to look like an ass for the rest of my life.

Attention, People of Earth: No One Really Cares

At about 30 I stopped caring what other people thought.  That was truly the most liberating thing I’ve ever done.  Some people seem born knowing this, and other people never quite come around to it.

  • Have you not yet found a way to release the fear of judgment from others?
  • Do you still allow a dominant personality trait to run (and often, ruin) your life?
  • Do you still care what other people think?
  • Do you walk around the planet, self conscious, as if whatever is “wrong” with you is stamped on your forehead and everyone can see it?
  • Do you feel shamed or worried that you get intuitive impulses?

Please think about this – is your own internal critic making you miserable?  Are you allowing fear to run your life?

What we think, we shall become.

Oh dear, is THAT what you wanted to become?

I didn’t think so.

So, let’s take a collective deep breath and consider.  What would you feel if I told you with 100% certainty that not only does no one see your thoughts (except maybe a passing empath, but even they would rather not know), no one cares?  I grant you explicit permission to drop it forever, right now.  For those who may need something stronger, I hereby command you to drop that refrigerator right off your back.

Must I dust off my Protector persona, locate my sword at the bottom of the closet, and come rescue you, or are you willing to help yourself?

What are you telling yourself, right now?  What self- critical words are running around in your mind?  What do you “never” and “always” and “should” or “shouldn’t”?  What does the fear say?

Words have the power to both destroy and heal. When words are both true and kind, they can change our world.  I suppose the same thing can be said for deeds, they destroy and heal.

Do you know how many people are out there hiding in the psychic closet?

If your biggest problem is that you are getting guidance from spirit, then please embrace it.  It is normal.  It happens to many, many people.   You might not want to go around telling everyone you know all about it, that’s just inviting aggravation.  Maybe they are just jealous!  After all, it’s really handy.

If you get a message in your mind that James says not to let Laura go on the roller coaster, and someone you don’t know at all tells you that they have a deceased husband James and a living daughter Laura and tomorrow they are on their way to an amusement park, I think it is perfectly rational to assume that (1) you’re not crazy, you’ve just received a message you’re supposed to pass on and (2) there’s probably a great reason not to go on roller coasters during the trip.  In my mind, this is good information to have.  It’s useful right here in daily life, right in the present moment.  Much good can come of it.  In fact, maybe your soul purpose revolves around helping other people.  If you happen to get messages like that then consider it a blessing and move on.

Give yourself a break, release all of the coulda, shoulda, wouldas, and live in the present moment

Flip the fear and the internal critic upside down and shake it a little bit, like a snow globe.  When it settles, observe it.  You can use it to stop feeling sorry for yourself, fearful, or guilty and start embracing the benefit, the joy, the whole experience of intuition.

  • You can learn how to trust your intuitive hits.
  • You can learn to ground and protect yourself.
  • You can learn how to meet and work with your own spiritual team.
  • You can learn how to help others through your skills as an intuitive.
  • You can learn how to ask for your Next Best Step and take action on it.
  • You can learn how to be fully awake in the present moment and see the signs and synchronicity of the universe all around you, guiding and helping you.
  • You can learn how to trust.

As Winston Churchill said, “If you’re going through hell, keep going.”

He also said, “You have enemies?  Good.  That means you’ve stood up for something, sometime in your life.”

Today I am standing up for all of you who need someone to do it for you until you’re strong enough to do it for yourself.
